Ceramic Insert Technology Extends Wear Life 40%

ATF is expanding our range of ceramic-insert wear parts following successful field trials at copper and gold mining operations across South America and Australia.

The Technology

Our ceramic insert components embed alumina (Al2O3) ceramic tiles into a high-chrome white iron matrix. The ceramics provide extreme hardness (1800 HV) at wear surfaces, while the metal matrix absorbs impact forces and holds the ceramic elements in place.

Available Products

Ceramic insert options are now available for:

  • Cone Crushers: Mantles and concaves for HP, CH, and Symons series
  • Jaw Crushers: Jaw plates for high-abrasion applications
  • Impact Crushers: Blow bars and impact plates

When to Consider Ceramic Inserts

  1. 1Processing highly abrasive ores (silica content >60%)
  2. 2When crusher uptime is critical
  3. 3Remote operations where change-outs are costly
  4. 4High-volume operations where extended wear life offsets premium pricing
